Would you like to learn how to support autistic people better? Would you like to make your business or place of work more inclusive by becoming more sensory-friendly? Our What is Autism Workshop focuses on providing guidance and training around community inclusion. Over an hour, participants learn how autistic people may experience the world and how they contribute to autism awareness and acceptance.
We offer this free workshop to build supportive, inclusive communities for all autistic people. We want a world where community accommodations are commonplace and community spaces are designed to support everyone.
Guided by insights from autistic self-advocates, autism service providers, and parents of autistic children, our training tackles essential questions like:
What is autism?
How common is autism?
What does AutismBC do?
How can I expand my awareness of autism?
How and why can my workplace offer accommodations?
We will discuss all of these questions and more. Feel free to extend invitations to your coworkers, family, and friends. All are welcome!
The workshop will begin with a brief introduction and an approximately 45-minute guided PowerPoint presentation. At the end of the session, there will be a question-and-answer period.
