Building Community Recreation Skills Presented by Autism Community Training (ACT)
About the Event
This workshop will provide parents and caregivers with ideas for getting their children meaningfully involved in community-based recreation opportunities. The session will begin with where to start with assessing your child’s interests, choosing an activity, as well as advocating for the right supports. Given today’s realities, virtual recreational opportunities in BC during the COVID era will also be discussed, along with ways to help your child get the most out of these programs, as well as other ideas for building recreation skills at home. Parents and caregiver questions will be encouraged throughout the session.
